Menorca, Spain is the ideal vacation destination for tourists seeking a genuine Spanish holiday. The Island is fairly quiet and has a relaxed atmosphere even during peak holiday season. Menorca offers miles of sandy beaches. The beaches of Menorca tend to be quieter and less crowded than the beaches of the nearby Islands of Mallorca and Ibiza. The best beaches that Menorca has to offer are found on the eastern coast of the South shore.

The southern shore of the island features many popular resorts. Whereas the rocky northern shore is dotted with sleepy fishing villages for those of us who want to enjoy the culture of the island on a first hand basis.

Menorca has been largely protected from industrial development thus making it a haven for nature lovers. Menorca also offers excellent bicycle trails, which crisscrosses through out the island offering spectacular views of the waterfront and the island.

The Island enjoys Mediterranean weather characterized by hot summers and mild winters. Tourist tend to flock to Menorca during July and August, when the island reaches its hottest temperatures and offers sunny days with over eleven hours of sunlight. Menorca is quite an enjoyable tourist destination even during the off-season, where the temperatures never falls below zero degrees. During the winter months the temperatures range from a low of six degrees Celsius to a high of fourteen degrees.

Overall the quiet atmosphere of Menorca offers one of the top vacation destinations in Spain for tourists, who want to escape the hustle and bustle of the other Spanish beaches and cities.

Canon's National Parks Digital Photo Contest

Canon's National Parks Digital Photo Contest
If you love outdoor photography, and you've never visited any of the USA's National Parks, then there's a treasure trove of photo opportunities waiting for you I took the one above in Zion National Park during early November, 2006 I haven't been to many National Parks because I caught on to them too late in life; but the ones I've visited have provided me with all the "photo ops" I could have hoped for.........Go to the Travel-blog (Added on 5/8/2008 7:53:35 PM)

Bangkok: First Impressions

Bangkok: First Impressions
We arrived in Bangkok in the middle of the evening. To describe it, I can only use a phrase that I have not used since the 1970s: Mind Blowing. To a Westerner, Bangkok seems like an alternate reality. I'd say that it is up there with Cairo, Luxor and Aswan as one of the most unique places in the world. It is also a budget traveler's paradise. Food, lodging and transportation are dirt cheap Bangkok is an almost ironic combination of........Go to the Travel-blog (Added on 4/23/2008 4:12:49 PM)

citizenM concept hotels
citizenM is a new brand of concept hotels whose aim is to build a strong brand personality which is approachable, down to earth, friendly and worldly wise offering affordable luxury. The concept revolves around "a mobile citizen of the world", an independent, frequent traveller. At the moment there is only one hotel at Schipol in Amsterdam. The hotels are constructed in a modular form. I'm not sure I like the idea of the open plan........Go to the Travel-blog (Added on 4/5/2008 1:25:42 PM)

The view from Hotel Bellevue is to-die-for. Night on the Town

Night on the Town
Friday night a couple of friends and I received an after-hours tour of one of my favorite places in the world, the American Museum of Natural History. It''s really nice to tour the museum when there are no screaming kids running around. One of the highlights was a trip to the roof where we had a view much like the one above (I was kicking myself for not bringing my camera). The other highlight was viewing the hominan phylogeny now including the........Go to the Travel-blog (Added on 11/6/2007 10:10:58 PM)

One of the best pranks I have ever seen. It's in German so I'll explain first. A restroom, a mirror, and a young woman putting on make-up. Earthquake Experts Turn to History for Guidance

Earthquake Experts Turn to History for Guidance
The best seismologists in the world don't know when the next big earthquake will hit. But a Tel Aviv University geologist suggests that earthquake patterns recorded in historical documents of Middle Eastern countries indicate that the region's next significant quake is long overdue. Is a Big Earthquake Approaching Africa?

Is a Big Earthquake Approaching Africa?
Is a big quake approaching? This question, these days, is surely sending a chill down the spine of each Kenyan and Tanzanian. It was on July 12, tremors had their jerks felt mildly across the cities, with very few being able to realize it. But, what followed a week later, are a couple of good jolts, forcing people flee their offices in downtown Nairobi. The tremors then were gone altogether! But, it is not that the chapter closed but left........Go to the Travel-blog (Added on 7/26/2007 8:05:38 PM)

The Pictures Speak For Themselves
It seemed like a crazy thing to even consider this late in our trip. Here we had spent almost 5 months straight in Europe and the surrounding area and were getting on a plane to head as far south in Africa as we could get. As we left our hotel in Barcelona, at 6pm on Tuesday, I wondered how I had let Kel talk me into a crazy trip a quarter of the way around the world. Wrong Airport, Safe Landing
My first view of Hershey, PA, was from the air. I was flying a Cessna C-172 from Toronto Island Airport along with three other pilots, all but one newly licensed. Our lone female pilot had flown the plane from Toronto to Buffalo, where we were required to check in with customs before continuing. My turn came next; an amateur nervously negotiating the multiple taxiways of a busy international airport he'd never seen before.
